Historical Day?

OK, so I was cyber-yelled to write a new post. I got nothing to do (or will to do anything) so I’ll do that now.

Yesterday another celebrity died. It’s been a bad year for them. Now other celebrities should watch their backs, cuz the curse says they die at series of threes.

I remember Brittany Murphy as a cute girl with bad fashion sense from Clueless, but not as much as I remember watching her on 8 Mile and connecting the dots. Which went like “Whoa! That’s the fugly girl from Clueless?? OMG what blonde hair can do to you”. Of course looking at her IMDB filmography she’s done many other movies between those two. Girl Interrupted was a good one. Although her character didn’t end well there. It’s one of my favorite movies actually. Something about mentally ill girls that makes me relate. Sigh. Then there’s also Don’t Say A Word, that I never watched completely but always cited her line from there, “I’ll never tell”. In Sin City she had a small role, but everyone had small roles there. That what happens with a big cast. It was a cool movie, I wish they’d hurry up with its sequels. Unfortunately Brittany Murphy won’t be in them. I’m not quite sure what the cause of her death was, and it’s always shocking to hear of someone so young die of  a heart situation. It’s funny how a celebrity death makes me freeze for a while like it’s someone I really know. Or seen in more than 5-6 movies.

On another subject, I didn’t go to university today. It’s my one day I start early and finish after 4 hours and usually go to the gym after wards and come back home just in time  for lunch. However I don’t go to the gym whilst on period and figured I can be absent for a day or 2 or 3 in a semester. I didn’t go cuz I also thought there’ll be an announcement on Gilad Shalit this morning and wanted to be there [infront of tv] on the historical moment.  They re-started the intensive talks all day yesterday and said they’ll have a decision by the morning but it hasn’t happened yet. I hope this boy, who was captured when we both were in the army, will return soon. I finished that chapter in life, his friends finished that chapter in life, and he’s still stuck in those uniforms and smelly captivity for over 1275 days. It’s amazing how everyone in the country want him back like he was a member of every family, and most people don’t mind the 1000-something terrorists we’re about to exchange for just one boy. Makes me wonder where else in the world such thing could happen. I just wish it’s a done deal already. If not now, it might as well be a dead deal, and that’s a scary thought.

Overlooking this post it sounds cynical I’m connecting in a way between a dead celebrity and a living kidnapped soldier. Those are the two issues troubling my mind right now, what can I say. My mind is multilayered.
